Drilling for Oil Destroys Environment

“Fracing”, plain and simple, is the main reason drilling is one of the worst possible things we can do to our environment. Otherwise known as hydraulic fracturing, this is a process used to “open” water and oil wells, many deep in the ground. A mixture of water, sand and dangerous chemicals, including acids, strong solvents, etc. are pumped into deep underground oil wells with ultra-high pressures, causing what can be described as an ecological disaster.
The main reason most people know nothing about this – “They don’t want you to know”. Halliburton, the largest company behind this process of fracing, is the same company that paid their ex-CEO Dick Cheney over $34million so he could be Vice President of the United States.
Halliburton, chosen as the biggest contractor in Iraq by the U.S. with "no bid" contracts, should not be described as a “cover up”. This is a blatant abuse of power. Sarah Palin was chosen as running mate with John McCain to continue this agenda of tragedies.
Big oil represents big money, and has little or nothing to do with what is good for us. Drilling makes huge amounts of money for a “chosen few” while the rest of us lose… not just lots of income, we also lose our rights to get alternative energy resources available.
Many honor our Earth as a life force that goes beyond the comprehension of our tiny human brain. Drilling and fracing to our Earth is the equivalent, in our human bodies, of getting stuck with a big hypodermic syringe, then pumping a huge amount of foreign substance into our bodies. It is an extremely non-natural activity that threatens our existence every day. Consider the fact that there are thousands of holes like this covering the Globe. Consider the fact that oil, water, and molten rock flow through the veins of our Earth like blood flows in our own bodies.
There are SO MANY other viable alternatives to drilling for oil. It is pathetic that most politicians, pushed by an out – of – control Republican party, chanting “drill, baby, drill” at their 2008 National Convention have caved to the Bush/Cheney agenda. There is a HUGE lobby in DC calling for continued drilling. John McCain and Sarah Palin are simply “puppets on a string”. Obama has "caved" on the issue of “off shore drilling”.
We really do not need to pollute our oceans, as well as our pristine national treasures with more drilling. We need responsible people in our Government that will support the numerous alternatives, like converting garbage / used plastics / green waste to make oil, hydrogen, wind, solar, etc. There are huge resources available if we would simply use a fraction of the tax benefits and profits big oil gets to continue their activities, that should be considered criminal.
